Court Porcedures
The Payne Springs Muncipal Court docket is the schedule of the Court. Defendants will be expected to adhere to the procedures and protocol of the Court at all times, including proper attire.
All mobile devices, including phones, must be silenced. Photography and audio recordings are PROHIBITED. No food or drinks will be allowed in the court room at any time.

If you have received a summons for Jury duty, please read the following;
Dress Code Guidelines
This dress code applies to all persons attending court. No children are allowed in the court.
Male Dress Code
- Shoes with socks
- Long pants (on pants with belt loops, wear a belt)
- Collared shirt (tucked in) with a tie (optional), with or without a jacket
Female Dress Code
- Shoes
- Dress, skirt or long pants
- Blouse, sweater or casual dress shirt
You will NOT be allowed to enter the Courtroom wearing the following inappropriate clothing.
- Shorts
- Hats (men) or hair curlers (women)
- Halter or tube top
- T-shirt or muscle shirt
- See-through top
- Flip flops
- Clothing that exposes your midriff or underwear
- Ripped or torn jeans
- Baggy pants that fall below your waist
- Clothing with an emblem or wording that promotes illegal or inappropriate activity
- Clothing that depicts or promotes violence, sex acts, illegal drug use or profanity
Please have your "Juror Questionaire" filled out and ready.
You may claim an exemption from jury service if the person wishes, to do so;
- Persons over 70 years of age;
- Persons who have legal custody of a child under the age of 12 years if jury service by that person would necessitate leaving the child without adequate supervision;
- All students of public or private secondary school;
- Every person who is enrolled and in actual attendance at an institution of higher education;
- Persons who are the primary caretaker of a person who is an invalid unable to care for himself or herself;
- An officer or an employee of the Senate, House of Representatives or any department, commission, board, office, or other agency in the legislative branch of state government;
- A member of the United States military forces serving on active duty and deployed to a location away from your home station and out of your county of residence.
- You have served as a juror in this county during the 24-month period prior to the date you are required to appear by this summons.
- You have been summoned for jury service in this county and you have served as a petit juror in this county during the three- year period prior to the date you are required to appear by this summons.
If you wish to claim a statutory exemption, you must complete the affidavit that was mailed to you and mail it back IMMEDIATELY signed and notarized to the court at; Payne Springs Municipal Court, 19601 CR 2529, Payne Springs, TX 75156.
This Court does not handle Class A/B misdemeanor cases. This Court only handles Class C misdemeanors.
