Other Payment Options

The Payne Springs Municipal Court has three options that may help in your financial struggles.

**If the defendant has received a citation and is under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian before entering into any of the following agreements with the Court.**

A payment options are:

Payment Plan Options: (please contact the Court for this option)

  • $20 weekly,
  • $35 bi-weekly,
  • or $65 monthly

There is a Payment Plan Agreement document below.

**The next two options need to be on or before the appear by date.**

 

Driver Safety Course:

 

1.  Can I take a Driver Safety Course? 

Some driver are eligible for Driver Savety Course to show a non conviction on your record.  You must meet ALL of the following criteria to qualify for the Course;

  • I have not completed (or in the process of completing) a Driver Safety Course in the past 12 months,
  • I do not have a commercial driver's license (CDL),
  • My violation is for LESS than 25 mph above the posted speed limit,
  • My violation was NOT for passing a school bus,
  • I am an insured driver and/or a policy holder on my vehicle insurance,
  • I have a valid Driver's license.

IIf you can answer "YES" to ALL to the criteria above, then you qualify to take a Driver Safety Course.  If you do not qualify, but take the course anyway, the violation will still show on your record, and you will not receive credit for taking a driving course.  Please make sure you meet the criteria.

2. I meet ALL the requirements for Driver Safety Course.  Now what?  

If you have decided to take the Driver Safety Course, the Court will require the following documents from you (if you have made it to Court in person and have the following);

  • A copy of your Driver's License,
  • A copy of your insurance,
  • and a payment of $144.00,
  • a Driver Safety Course form will be filled out in person and notarized by a Court official.
  • You will then have 90 days to complete the Course and have your Certificate of Completion, and a copy of your Driving Record turned into the Court.

3. I qualify for a Driver Safety Course, and I have sent you the required payment and information.  What's next?

  • You will then have 90 days to complete the course and provide the Court with a Certificate of Completion and a copy of your Driving Record upon completion of your course.  Here are some Approved Driver Safety Courses approved by the Court.  The sooner you get the course completed, the sooner your record will reflect the completion.
  • Also if you have forgot to get your driving record you can get your Application for Driving Record here.

 

**Please be advised, the Court may not accept any Driver Safety Course taken before the Courts approval.**

 

Deferral Disposition

This option is available if you are not currently on probation with Henderson County.  You must pay the equivalent of the fine and court costs plus $50 as the special expense fee, and you cannot receive any citations/convictions in the State during your deferral period.

  • This option CAN NOT be chosen if you have a commercial driver's license (CDL) at the time of the offense or were speeding 25 mph over the limit.
  • You must request this option on or before your appear by date of your citation.
